It is my observation after some years of looking and interacting/dealing with children that children are terrible. Awful. Shocking.

The task of looking after them can drive you to insanity.

They are inhuman in their demands.

How can this possibly be the result of evolution? Isn't it the case that evolutionary theory holds that only the 'fittest' survive? That only those mutations that are beneficial will survive?

Then how does it come about that our children are born with characteristics that would cause rational people to abandon them?
